Deploying Unified VRM Virtual Appliance

The Unified VRM Virtual Appliance enables organizations to leverage their on-prem IT ecosystem for broader automation.

System Requirements

The Virtual Appliance requires the following system requirements:

  • 2 GHz CPU
  • 20 GB hard drive space
  • 2 GB RAM**

**NopSec recommends allocating resources to the Virtual Appliance according to the number of assets in scope for ingestion. See below for recommended GB allocation:

  • 2GB: Up to 1,000 assets
  • 4GB: Up to 10,000 assets
  • 8GB: Up to 20,000 assets

Actions Required

Each virtual appliance image is uniquely tied directly to the customer's account. In order to create the virtual image, system configuration information is required from the customer.

Please provide NopSec support with the following information:

  • Static IP that should be assigned to the machine; e.g., 192.168.1.25
  • Netmask
  • Gateway IP address
  • DNS servers
  • Virtual Machine software and version

You will not need to open inbound ports. You will need to be able to open communication to the outside (outbound to Unified VRM platform) to access port 443/https. We recommend whitelisting the following for your Unified VRM Appliance:

  • Service: HTTPS
  • Port: 443
  • Outbound DNS: https://tunnel.nopsec.com
